Your Open Casting Day Experience
Make sure you have registered and installed our Open Casting Candidate card before you show up.
Our Open Casting Day runs in 2-hour windows, and you can show up at any time during that period …no need to rush or stress about arriving “on the dot.”
We’ll check you in when you arrive, and depending on the crowd, there may be a short wait.
The actual casting process for you will take just 10 to 15 minutes. That’s it.
You’ll get clear direction, simple instructions, and walk away without having to perform, pose perfectly, or memorize anything. Just show up and let us guide you.
Step 1: Walk In & Check In
Arrive anytime within the model casting window. We’ll mark your attendance and guide you through the process. There may be others waiting, but our team will make sure everything runs smoothly.
Step 2: Starter Session
When it’s your turn, our team will guide you through a short, friendly session: a few poses, basic expressions, and camera-readiness checks. We’ll also take a few snapshots — casual, simple, and beginner-friendly. Nothing intense. No pressure.
Step 3: Personal Fit Feedback
After the event, we’ll review your session and follow up with you within two weeks. You’ll get clear guidance on what your next best step could be — no guesswork, no pressure.

How do open castings work?
Open castings are events you need to register for in advance. During Open Casting you can meet our team, take professional photos, and learn about opportunities. Just show up prepared during the casting hours and don’t be late!
What are the age requirements?
We welcome talents from age of 13 and above. There’s no upper age limit – we believe talent comes in all ages and celebrate diversity in our casting calls.
Do you accept all body types?
For commercial modeling – which is actually the biggest part of our industry – we proudly welcome and encourage ALL body types. There are no limitations because we believe in real representation that reflects everyday people.
For high fashion modeling, there are specific industry standards that international clients expect, but even then, the industry is becoming much more inclusive.
What’s most important is finding where YOU fit best and can thrive.
What are the height requirements?
For commercial modeling – which includes advertising, e-commerce, lifestyle shoots – there are NO height restrictions. Many of our most successful commercial models are actually average height because brands want relatable, authentic people.
For high fashion modeling, the traditional requirements are females 170cm+, males 180cm+, but even high fashion is becoming more inclusive.
The commercial modeling industry is actually huge in Malaysia – much bigger than most people realize.
Do you work with hijab-wearing models?
Yes, we’re proudly hijab-friendly and actively seek modest fashion models. We respect cultural and religious preferences and have specific opportunities for hijab-wearing talent.
Can non-Malaysians apply?
Yes, we work with international talents. However, you must have legal working status in Malaysia and be available for local castings and shoots.
Do I need prior modeling experience?
No experience necessary! Just come and present yourself in your best light…
What should I wear to a casting?
The key is to let us see the real you, so here’s what works best:
- Simple, fitted clothing in black or white (avoid logos, patterns, or distracting elements)
- Think clean and classic – like a nice black t-shirt and well-fitted jeans
- Minimal, natural makeup – we want to see your authentic features
- Clean, natural hair styling – avoid dramatic changes before casting
Remember, we’re not looking for you to dress up as a ‘model’ – we want to see your natural look and potential. Confidence is your best accessory!
Should I wear makeup to the casting?
Minimal, natural makeup is best. We want to see your natural features clearly. Heavy makeup can hide your authentic look.
What about hair styling for casting?
Keep hair clean and natural. Avoid dramatic styling – we prefer to see your natural hair texture and color.
Should I bring a portfolio?
Not necessary for open castings. However, if you have professional shots, feel free to bring them.
Can I wear accessories to a casting?
Minimal accessories only. Small stud earrings are fine, but avoid large jewelry, watches, or anything that distracts from your natural look.
What happens during the casting?
Registration, a brief orientation about opportunities, and a few professional snap photos.
Will I need to do a runway walk?
Depends on the casting type. Fashion castings may include walking, while commercial castings focus more on personality and natural appearance.
Do you conduct interviews during casting?
Not always. Open Casting events are typically very busy with many attendees, so there’s not much time to talk. Only if you’re contacted after the casting, we may ask a few additional questions — just brief, informal chats to understand your interests, availability, and experience level. It’s relaxed and conversational, not a formal interview.
How many photos will you take?
Typically 5-10 professional snapshots, including headshots and full-body poses.
What if I’m nervous during the casting?
That’s completely normal! Honestly, if you weren’t a little nervous, we’d be surprised – it shows you care about this opportunity.
Here’s the thing: our team creates a supportive environment because we want you to succeed. We’re rooting for you, not trying to intimidate you.
Take your time, breathe, and remember – there’s no such thing as a ‘perfect’ casting. We’re looking for authenticity and potential, not perfection. Is there a fee for casting calls?
Open casting calls are completely FREE. We never charge for casting attendance or basic registration. Beware of agencies that charge for castings.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you can bring one support person, especially if you’re under 18. However, only the talent participates in the actual casting process.
How will I know if I’m selected?
Selected talents are contacted within 2-3 weeks via phone, WhatsApp, or email. We contact only those we’re actively considering for opportunities.
What if I don’t hear back after casting?
Be patient. We try to update everyone as soon as possible.
How far in advance do you announce castings?
We typically announce castings 1-2 weeks in advance, though urgent opportunities may be announced with shorter notice. The most current information is always available on our registration page and through our WhatsApp channel. Install the Open Casting Candidate card and join our WhatsApp channel to stay updated.
How long should I expect to spend at casting?
Plan for 10-30 minutes total, including registration, briefing, photos, and potential callbacks. Exact time depends on attendance volume.
Can I choose my casting time slot?
No. You need to register in advance. Then arrive anytime during the posted Open Casting hours. We process attendees in order of arrival.
What if I arrive late to the casting?
Open Casting times are fixed, and typically, it would mean that you have missed out on the opportunity and will have to wait for the next one.
What if I can’t make this date?

Your Open Casting Candidate Card is a loyalty card stored in your phone’s digital wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet) that tracks your casting attendance and provides exclusive updates.
How do I install my OCCC?

Why do I need to install the OCCC?
It’s mandatory if you’re planning to attend our Open Casting events – think of it as your digital ticket!
But here’s why it’s actually really helpful for you: The OCCC allows you to receive exclusive casting notifications directly to your phone, and access special opportunities reserved for registered talent.
Many people in Malaysia haven’t used digital wallet cards much, but don’t worry – it’s completely safe! We’re just collecting the same basic info we already have (your name, phone, email) – no financial details or anything like that. And you can remove it anytime if you want.
